After three of the sweetest months, our time in Costa Rica has come to an end. I’m actually writing this during our layover in Panama, so we are already in the process of moving countries! I just posted a blog with some more details about what the last three months of ministry in Costa Rica was like, so now it’s time to announce what the last two months on the field have in store!

(full disclosure, I actually wrote a much better version of this blog earlier, but the whole thing got deleted, so this is my attempt to recreate it 13 hours into a travel day. bear with me.)

We’re going to the Dominican Republic! We will be living in the city of Santiago for two months and partnering with Mission of Hope, an established ministry in the DR that provides both physical relief and spiritual discipleship to Dominican / Haitian families in their community!

Here’s a brief look at what Mission of Hope is already doing that we get to partner with:

  • house visits! We will be coming under the authority of local pastors and building up & edifying the Body in Santiago! We will be going door to door (masked up and following all local COVID safety measures of course) leading devotionals, worshiping with and praying for families from the local churches!
  • manual labor! always a crowd favorite in the central american humidity 🙂
  • packing food! The materially poor communities in the DR have been hit especially hard by the pandemic, and many families are still struggling to put food on the table. Mission of Hope is helping to meet this need by packaging and distributing food to 75+ families a week, thanks to the generosity of their donors. We get to help meet this need in our host community during our time there!
  • bible studies! We get to go into the local churches and worship with other believers, as well as to lead bible studies for local college students! I’m so excited to get to pour into and encourage our brothers and sisters in Christ, as well as to hear how these students read the Bible through their own cultural lense. No doubt we’ll all learn more about the character of the Father along the way, and I couldn’t be more excited for this opportunity! Iron sharpens iron! Let’s go!

How can you continue to support me?

I am blown away by all of your continued support! Through the insane and humbling generosity of so many of you, I am on track to be fully funded by the end of the month! I still—as always—covet your prayers, and this is how you can be praying for me and my squad:

  • willing spirits! That we would all have cheerful hearts to do whatever is asked of us & be ready to jump in wherever we are needed!
  • open ears! That we would be sensitive to hearing God when He speaks, that we wouldn’t miss what He has for us, & for boldness in speaking out what Holy Spirit gives us to share with the people we are serving!
  • wisdom in leading! That myself and the rest of our leadership team would have wisdom and discernment, and that we would constantly be pushing ourselves and the squad closer to the Father in everything!
  • health and safety! We have been extremely blessed so far with good health, so prayers that the Lord’s favor would continue to go before us and come behind us, and for an extra layer of protection wherever we go!
  • revival! Most of us feel like we are hearing from the Lord that our time in the DR is going to be full of revival and that the Good News is going to spread like wildfire. We are expectant for God to do big things & move in and through us! Prayers for souls to come to Christ and for physical healing for members of the Body there who are hurting. We all believe that this generation has the potential to see a great revival within the Church, and we are praying and believing that we will get to be a part of this in the Dominican! Join us in asking for excitement and a fresh fire to share with the people there!

I can’t believe that there’s only two months left on the field with Gap D. This has been my favorite season of life so far, and I am constantly blown away that I get to be a part of this journey that they are on. As always if you have any questions, reach out to me and I’d love to talk about it! I can’t wait to share everything that the Lord has in store for these last two months. Thank you for partnering with me and helping to make this possible! Kingdom come!

In Christ,

Nicole
